Completion of Data Collection

So my data collection section is now complete.  In the end, I ended up reading my three key texts and completed two interviews.  It has been a constant battle, in regards to completing interviews as I was: concerned about the amount of information I would obtain, if it would be worth while, if it was ethically right to probe my interviewees for information that I may have been able to find online...I was both right and wrong.  The interviews were extremely beneficial and I gained further insight into my topic and myself from completing them (see my previous blog haha), but I was correct about the amount of information I have obtained...its a lot!!

I am feeling slightly overwhelmed with what to now do with all of this information and collate it all into some sort of presentable document, that will allow me to get the grade I want for this course.  However, I keep reminding myself that this feeling is similar to the previous two modules and I must learn from experience that this process is messy but it all comes together in the end and that it is not about going from A to B, it is about exploring everything in-between.

So with that, I plan on being more mindful and present when embracing this next stage of my inquiry 'analysis',  bring awareness to my reflective self and allowing for greater depth in the process.

  1. Hi Paul, congratulations on completing your data collection! I can relate to the overwhelmed feeling that you've written about. I have been busy with interviews for the whole week, and when reviewing the responses today, I felt a bit lost to what I should do with all these data. I do have 1 more interview left and I think after it, I will have to review the various methods of data analysis. Theresa x

  2. Hi Paul,
Amazing on completing your data collection- well done. I also feel I have so much information that I am currently analysing. I am taking each part step by step, and using different colours to see what different themes emerge. I look forward to hearing more about what you find!
    Thank you
